Journey Into Purpose

So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. Now he had to go through Samaria.  So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. - John 4:3-6 (NIV)

As we continue our journey to the Mountain Top, the story of Jesus’ journey to Galilee comes to mind. "Now he had to go through Samaria"... There seems to be an urgency, a tug in the Spirit, a Divine lure, an unseen pull drawing Jesus to Samaria.

This detour wearied Jesus, but it was a very necessary turn. His contact with the Samaritan opened up Samaria to the gospel.

What if He had ignored this pull of the Spirit?
One of the things you and I must do on our journey is to yield to the prompt and pull of the Holy Spirit.

It does not matter if the leading is into the wilderness (Luke 4:1- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,) or even if it wearies us like it did Jesus in John 4, the truth is at the end of it all we will be the better for it.

Ask for the grace to be more sensitive to the Spirit's leading and prompting.
Ask for the grace to yield and obey His leading.

worship more, pray more and learn more about our Holy Faith. All these will help you as you take the necessary journey into “Samaria”.
